Test studies and three year long experiments of the Valley Transportation Authority (VAT) and SamTrans in Northern California’s Silicon Valley now came to disappointing results: Hydrogen powered buses are much expensive to operate than diesel vehicles. For three years, the two partner ran three buses that run on hydrogen fuel cells, emit no smog-inducing pollutants and help keep the air clean. Read the rest of this entry »

As according to Treehugger.com one hapless television news crew discovered, store-bought Halloween costumes frequently contain a boatload of carcinogens and reproductive toxins such as lead, cadmium, and pthalates, particularly those made from PVC or vinyl. Even the PVC packaging most costumes come embalmed in can leave phthalate residues on their surfaces.
You should also be wary of store-bought face paints and Halloween makeup that are not only derived from petroleum, but may also contain parabens, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), formaldehyde, lead, and other potential and probable cancer-causing agents. Read the rest of this entry »

The next time you see that morose, dark-humored friend of yours walking down the sideway, you know what you need to do to bring a glimmer of happiness to their eyes. What you see up there thankfully is just a toy and not a real car in the making. But then who knows, with the more dark morons hanging down the alley, Cadillac might actually start considering it as a viable option.?
But until that happens, let’s bask in the darkness of this toy. The model is a rear-loader and comes with an extended rear-service table to help load the casket. Creepy? Wait until you see your kids playing with this kind of stuff. I’d say, dump all work and be with them day in and day out.? ? Read the rest of this entry »

Is that a good sign now, or what? Or wait - should we all be worried about Apple´s prospects in the cell phone market? Steve says the iPhone is SO succesful (”customers like it so much, it´s our most popular product ever”) - he just HAS to concentrate on this one model and make it available to EVERYBODY. One million of them sold by end of September. How is he going to DO that?
So the 4GB iPhone goes poof and the 8GB version drops from $599 to $399 which is the same as the new iPod touch with 16GB (and $100 less than what the 4GB phone sold for until today …). Oooh, that´s how.

There’s nothing I love more than having a great time in the bathtub after a really tiring day. I am sure you love the same too. So for luxury-suckers like you and me, the Luxor B-DV001 might just seem like an awesome indoor getaway. Moreover, the thought of watching all those husband and boyfriend-watching soaps while indulging in ecstasy just makes it all the more interesting, doesn’t it? The unique 14 inch LCD that’s built into it makes it for all that and much more as you can connect just about anything to view on it.

Sure, when you wake up, you have a thousand things on your mind but planning or mapping out your commute for the day. But then again, don’t be mistaken my boy. While you’re busy worrying where to get laid tonight, there are a thousand others still making the best of their life. And for them, their daily commute is as important as your pack of condoms is for you.
It’s great for people who are clumsy with train schedules and a thousand pamphlets and road signs hanging out their car and pockets, and a great reminder of the thousand places they need to go each day. Up there is an intelligently, intricately and delicately crafted gold laser etched version of the London tube. Read the rest of this entry »

Update: Ok, so it´s not a handheld computer. It´s just an iPod with Wifi built in plus a Safari browser. It´s called iPod touch. No operating system, but the look and feel of an iPhone. That´s more than Microsoft´s Zune can claim to be - but still no cigar. The one thing that really sets it apart from a Zune, or any other MP3 player for that matter, is the shrewd marketing tactic for this thing: It gives you free access to Wifi hotspots at Starbucks where you can also buy songs from Starbucks´own music store. But only while you are there - because Steve Jobs wouldn´t want you to buy ALL your music there.
As usual before Apple hosts another one of these ‘media events’ in San Francisco, the rumor mill is cooking. And, if the ’sources’ are correct, and the Cupertino-based Computer and entertainment giant really releases an iPod running the Mac OS operating system (maybe called ‘OSX for iPod’, or Mini OSX something like iPOSx …), the company will have developed an interesting little computer and not just another portable music or video player. Nerdy yet smart as the bicycle above may seem, it was only a concept until lately, when the bike has begun to be eyed upon as a viable real one. It was designed way back in 2004, by Cannondale in association with Elisava Design School in Barcelona, Spain.
The ‘On’ bike as it is weirdly called, have single forks in the front and back to keep the pile down, and to keep it unchunky and compact when folded. That apart, the rear-chain case supports it a complete set, and the disc brakes and nine-speed SPRAM hub-gear complete the package.
