The “Air Car” has gained a lot of criticisms lately that it won’t appeal to the masses and it doesn’t have much power. But a car that runs without fuel deserves to be noticed. It may not be speedy but in most Asian countries where speed is not important because of the bad traffic, I think the Air Car could be a perfect alternative. Read the rest of this entry »

Lately, we’ve been featuring solar powered gadgets here. Now, another addition to the list of greener gadgets that does use energy from alternatives sources: No, not from the sun, but from the sun but from gravity, another force that will never run out.
Gravia , a 4-feet tall Gravity-powered LED lamp, was invented by a tech student from Virginia when he discovered a way to use gravity or weight force similar to that used in a grandfather clock. Since this is gravity-powered, there is absolutely no need to plug it in to work. More good news: you can use it up to 200 years! Read the rest of this entry »

There’s the solar charger charm , wind-powered charger, and the solar panels but for people like me who love music, an alternative to my iPod or MP3 player would be good. The E-Pod windup jukebox perhaps can be the answer to everyone’s problem of batteries frequently running out.
E-pod or should I say the “greenPod” was invented by Trevor Baylis who also came up with the idea for the windup radio in 1989. Also called the Eco Media Player, the E-pod can play your favorite tunes for 20 hours. One-minute of turning the green music player is enough to produce 40-minutes of power. So you’ve attended tons and tons of seminars on re-using waste, but they were nothing more than B-School mandatory torture right? According to leading German Business magazine ‘Capital’, U.S. computer giant Apple and German car maker Volkswagen (VW) could not agree yet on the production of the highly anticipated iCar. VW CEO Martin Winterkorn and Apple CEO Steve Jobs met last September to discuss options for creating an iCar, a small car made by Volkswagen equipped with hightech gadgets from Apple targeted for younger audiences. Volkswagen confirmed the talks.
As ‘Capital’ now reports, Apple is also talking to other manufacturers regarding the development of the iCar. ‘The project stands on shaky ground”, quotes Capital sources at Volkswagen. Well then, iIf it’s not gonna be an iBeetle, maybe an iMini, or iCivic. I’d personally prefer a Toyota iPrius: clean, smart, chic …
